ARTISTIC AND UP-CYCLING WORKSHOPS

Let yourself be inspired by the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its green hills and valleys, red Jurassic sandstone cliffs and the ever- changing colours of Lyme Bay.

Living by the coast is inspiring to all artistically inclined souls. Whether it’s lifestyle decision to live by the coast or a holiday retreat; when it comes to creating an artistic, welcoming interior, one of our workshops might be your first stop. Whether you choose to use decorative paint styles, stencilling, decoupage, up-cycling old furniture or linens you will create an eclectic, welcoming and unusual home.

Most of the workshops are held in Sidmouth, East Devon. Traditional sand and sea colours such as variations of blues, greens and neutrals are great to start with as décor ideas but you can also surprise with bolder colours that are characteristic of the area, the emerald green hills and red Jurassic sandstone cliffs.

There are auction houses and many vintage, reclamation and retro outlets throughout Devon, Dorset and Somerset where you can find great bargains and items to reclaim, restore and re-use.

Special effect paint techniques, such as a delicately sponged blue sky, are often used on walls to reflect coastal themes. White-washed and painted furniture compliment the casual coastal feel.

One Day Workshop on Painting Techniques, tips on materials to use and practical hands-on tuition in painting, distressing and ageing your own small piece of furniture.
